Sports Hernia, bye-bye exercise...

Just wondering if anyone out there has ever had this? I just got diagnosed with it by a sports medicine doc & now I"m doing 6 weeks of physical therapy. He says no more P90X, no more basketball, no more running, at least for 6 weeks. The gloomy part of this is that if the PT doesn't do it, there's only a few surgeons in the country that do this kind of surgery and, of course, my insurance wouldn't cover it.

Apparently it's a rare thing (I think an overuse or overstress type of injury). It's not the same as a hiatal (sp?) hernia or inguinal hernia - there's no bulging or anything.

Anyone dealt with this? Been able to get back to FULL activity again?

Donovan McNab (Philly's old QB) had 2 season ago and came back pretty well from it.

Im so sorry to hear that. i know how dedicated you are and how hard this must be to not be working out. i dont know anything about all that but i say to stay positive. miracles happen everyday. listen to your body, take the rest and let yourself heal. i have faith you'll be back at it before you know it. take care :)
