I am eliminating processed sugars and artificial sweeteners, except stevia. Has anyone else here done this and if so did you lose weight? Or did you have any good health benefits?

Thanks for responding- I have been doing this for 2 weeks steadily- 2 months with a few slip ups before that. I had lost 5 lbs, kept of 3. I was just wondering if it is worth it. How long have you been doing it?0

I'm not quite completely free of processed sugar/sweetners, but I'm getting there, and I don't consume much at all most days. I don't miss it! I find I feel much better when I'm eating more cleanly and eating a low-sugar diet. My body definitely appreciates it. I'm aiming at 10% of total calories from sugar - natural and added, most days I'm 10 to 15%, but I'm trying to get that down a little bit more. I was losing weight before I was watching my sugar, but I *feel* a lot better now, and am continuing to lose weight.0

Recently started no wheat, gluten, or sugar. Still a have a cpl equal in my coffee but otherwise I'm doing good. The main benefit for me in not eating sugar is that i don't crave sugar! It's amazing. I am work right now sitting next to a communal bowl of chocolate and nothing! no urges or anything. It awesome.0

Hi
I am sugar free and loving it. As a previous sugarholic, I now stay under 5g per 100g sugar in my products (that doesn't include lactose) and have only 1 or 2 pieces of fruit a day. I am in my 2nd week and have lost 1.5kg due to this new me. I eat my carbs (low sugar), meat and heaps of vegies.
I don't use artificial sweeteners (apart from my 200ml x 3 week coke zero - mainly as my mixer for my bourbon....a treat!), honey, HFCS, golden syrup, maple syrup etc etc and I always check my labels.....did you know that one of my chicken stock powders had sugar as it's main ingredient??!!!
Welcome to the world of 'sugar free' :happy:0 -
thinking about the same. not sure about stevia,I see that there are articles about it that say it's not been tested enough for widespread use. google and see what you find.
regarding processed foods, i totally agree. about sugar, hmm...not sure if I can go that low yet. gonna hit my goal weight then clean up the rest of my diet I think. Rome wasn't built in a day.0 -

EXACTLY!! I work in a quilting shop that also is a chocolate and coffee shop. I am around chocolate and cakes and all things sugary all day. Before the new year I would eat truffles everyday and have a 'treat' of cake in the arvo!! Now, since watching my sugar I AM NOT CRAVING IT! It was hard the first week but this week has been amazing. Sugar is addictive to many people (some lucky ones can take it or leave it) and I was BUT NOT NOW! (prob not a good salesperson now for the shop  ).0
