Hello everyone. I am a single mom, 33 yrs old, and a special education teacher. In High School I was athletic and my weight was never a concern. I was curvy but active and very fit. While I was a junior in High School I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Being so sick I lost all my muscle mass and was really weak. The medications and non active lifestyle contributed to my weight gain. I was able to lose the weight and get back to close to my high school weight. Then college, working, marriage,a child, divorce and all of lifes major and minor hurdles took priority of my health. I have tried gyms and diet plans before but they have never lasted very long. In reflection between school, work, and spending time with my daughter and all of lifes adventures the last thing I wanted to do was count calories or pay attention to how long I was exercising.
This year has to change. I am now realizing how much I have accomplished (obtained my Masters degree, have a wonderful, intelligent, daughter who loves to travel and be creative with me) and I want my body to look how I feel inside. I have climbed mountains and I want to look like I climbed it not like I am carrying it! :-)

good luck steampunkgirl just take one day at a time, just like all those other mountains you climb. You know that you have it in you and know that there are others out here doing it with you. You are not alone.
