I did the elliptical at the gym tonight (didn't put my weight into machine or anything), & it said I burned 153 calories. I entered the amount of time I was on the machine into MFP & it gave me 294 calories...I know a heart rate monitor is the best way to calculate, but until I can afford a good one, I'm gonna have to guess-timate with either the machine at the gym or what it says here on MFP. What would you do? I was thinking go with the lower # to be safe?

ok first when u go to the gym put in your weight cause the more you weigh the more you burn. The machine at the gym just goes by the standard. MFP knows you and your body according to what you put in so I would go by what MFP says for sure.0
