and i know this is going to seem stupid
that most Americans think kangaroos just jump around all over australia, including major cities like Brisbane and Sydney?

its kind of funny how many cultural differences I've seen on this site, and i was talking to someone before who mentioned this. and i honestly didn't believe it true, but they proved me wrong so please chime in if you think it is, no judgment i just want to see how many people think that

also, do you know what the meaning of suss is? or have ever heard of it before?

Don't know about the kangaroos, but..

    suss (sŭs) pronunciation
    tr.v. Slang., sussed, suss·ing, suss·es.

    1. To infer or discover; figure out: “I think I'm good at sussing out what's going on” (Ry Cooder).
    2. To size up; study: “Suss out the designers in whom you are interested” (Lucia van der Post).

i was wondering because i used it in the convo and it totally confused the people i was talking to
maybe it was the context in which i used it

I don't have the belief they are running aound everywhere, just rural areas and not even then are they so prodominate. I can tell you I have the belief they taste ok, kind of like a mix between goat and beef in my opinion. Cheers!:drinker:

Oops, sorry. :blushing: But once you asked I was curious, and then tried to figure out how to use it in a sentence. Didn't happen. I'm just guessing that's not a word I'm going to be using in my everyday conversation any time soon :)

I would say that most Americans realize that kangaroos don't jump all over the place down in OZ--although there's probably plenty of people here that do think that!

I don't know what "suss" meant (until I read the defination that was posted!).

Used to have a Blue Heeler by the way! Actually, we've had 2 of them over the years and want to get another one. They are absolutely the best dogs we've ever owned--so smart that it's scary and loyal to a fault!

See my last one, Nelson, in my ticker pick--he's the one on the right on the sofa. He died 2 years ago of a tick-born disease but he was my baby boy!

i have a funny story about kangaroos my mil went to sydney to see family and they went traveling and kept saying i want to see a kangaroo over and over then one hopped accross the road and hit the car totaling the car mmm mil needs to keep mouth shut.
so when i come over to sydney in septemeber i will not be saying i want to see a kangarroo (unless its in a zoo or wild park lol)

and suss are you meaning like "oh that sounds suss" we use it like that here in nz but then again aussie and nz are like cousins lol

I've heard "suss" used as in "suss something out" but this was when I worked with aussies & kiwis overseas. I went to Western Australia for a vacation & we drove up north from Perth to Coral Bay at night. It was a bit freaky because the kangaroos were all out & we could see them next to the highway, and one hopped right across the road in front of us. Had to put on the brakes fast! Well when we rented the car we had to sign something that said we wouldn't drive at night but my aussie bf blew it off. :ohwell:
