My girlfriend, Meagan and I just joined this past Friday. We decided we wanted to lose weight together and trying to find a calorie counter app on the iPhone, I found this site. And so far its pretty addicting. I'm actually excited to come to the site and put in what I've ate, and when I've exercised.

As for me, over the past couple years I've lost 45 lbs. I used to walk a lot, which helped loose/keep it off. But after I started working again I stopped walking as much, and started gaining a little of it back. So now I'm here to try to lose a few lbs along with my girlfriend. It's great to have someone to go through this with, it makes it a lot more fun and easier to stick with it.

Glad you and your girlfriend found myfitnesspal! I was invited to it to support a friend. I was also told I was in the high end of my weight chart by my doctor and I had been gaining weight through my 30s and I'm turning 40 this year. So I joined last May and lost 24 pounds by October and have been maintaining since. If you can keep up with it, it's my advice to stay with it even once you've met your goal if you don't want to put the weight back on. I had lost 8 pounds in the first 4 weeks so I took a week off and gained 4 pounds back! I do allow myself to slack on some weekends but I am very diligent during the week and it's been working for me. Now I'm in the low end of my weight chart and my family wants me to put 10 pounds back on because they think I'm to thin, but my husband says if I'm happy, I should keep maintaining. =)
