Question: I eat a lot of fruit products which is healthy but has SO much sugar in them..I have been tracking my food for eleven days now. I have went over my sugar limit eight days out of those eleven.
Is that SOO bad?
My sugar intake is supposed to be at 30.
five of them have been under 34-50. Two of them were been 58 and 64. And one was 129. (whoa)
I just wanted thoughts?
Ideas on how to reduce my sugar intake but still have fruit that I LOVE so much?

well, for me, it's hard enough monitoring calories and ensuring adequate nutrient consumption in all categories, but if you have to watch sugar then start looking for no sugar added options. I would steer clear of aspartame containing substances if possible.0

I really dont see a problem eating natural sugars, but perhaps others will disagree.
The sugar limit should be for processed sugars only, IMHO.
In fact, I dont even track it. :bigsmile:0 -
oh! and I don't drink fruit juices, because they are high in sugar and low in nutrients. still a better option than soda any day of the week. I do (infrequently) get unsweetened cranberry juice and it's like $8.99, comes in a glass jar. drink nonfat milk instead of juice.0

added benefit of drinking nonfat milk instead of juice is you may find yourself having less cravings for sweet fruity things because it has galactose instead of fructose/sucrose, i.e. keeps your sugar level more level.0

I can't see your diary so I don't know which fruits/sugars you are getting. If you are a fruit junkie, try to space them out during the day. Also, opt for fresh fruit, juice is way too sugary. Try to mix up the variety of fruit in the day. Bananas, pineapple, mango, pretty high sugar. Apples, grapes, cantelope, honeydew, plums, not too bad. Good luck.0

Yeah, I do a lot of grape juice and orange juice.
I have at least one glass of either each day.
& I make my own smoothies..with fresh fruit.. mangos, strawberries, peaches and berries.
I eat a lot of apples and oranges too.
I may cut half of the fruit juice.
and just keep the rest.0
