where to start

So my story is simple i am overweight. I have had three children in 4 years they are 4,3,1. I work full time plus have three little ones that I run around after. My biggest problem is that I have zero time to workout, and I have a tendency to be a stress eater, which is pretty much my lift. My day starts at 6 and ends at 9 when the last child goes down. Lunches are a wash because I pick the kids up and take them to their aftercare sitter. At that point I do not workout because I am wiped out, and i know that when i do workout the energy from working out keeps me up at night. My big vice is Caffeine, mostly Mt. Dew. I crave it. I know what I should do as i was a college athlete, however it is more of time and motivation. I am the heaviest I have ever been and I am miserable. I don't even know where to start. I am tired of being tired and feeling fat all the time. I would like to loose a good amount of weight by the end of April. Advice, motivation...any help would be great. Is anyone in this situation that feels kind of helpless. It is a cycle I would like to break

As hard as it sounds, you really need to make time for you.
Start with your food. Try to plan your meals out for the week and do a one trip shopping trip so you have everything you need for the week. Pack up things a head of time in ziploc bags or container for snacks so you can grab and go.
I don't have a little one around any more (he moved out at 19 this last fall:sad: :drinker: ) I have mixed emotions on that subject. However, alot of women on this board with little ones say they pop in a dvd like zumba and let the kids join in and exercise too. If you are married can your husband wrangle the little ones for 30 minutes.
Good luck to you!! Only you can controll your time and how it is spent.0 -
I only have one child but other than that, I could have written this. You have to make YOU a priority. I get up an extra half hour early to do my exercise, and on the weekends I try to do activities with my son and partner that also give us a workout... last night we went skating! I try and challenge myself to do one thing for my health a week, like drink water instead of soda. Best of luck on your journey.0

The easiest place to start is with something simple. All you should do, for now, is track what you eat religiously. After a little while of this you might be surprised by easy changes you can make which will have a big impact. Cutting out junk food is obvious, as well as heavy calorie drinks. The best advice I can give you is just to take this one day at a time.
Also, although I can't relate to having no time to exercise, I know there's alot of people who feel the same way, but are you sure you can't find just 10 minutes in a day to go for a walk/run?0 -
I don't know if this is possible for you, but I will offer it as a possible suggestion. Our local rec center ($66.00 a month for the family membership) offers child care for one hour each day. They have a walking track, weight room, cardio equipment, pool, etc. If you can find a place like that, then you can takle the kids and have a precious hour all to yourself and then afterward, pick the kids up and have everyone go splash around in the indorr pool. The pool can be what they look forward to (making them more willing to put up with the sitter for an hour). Just a suggestion.0

thanks for the advice, It would be a lot easier but out rec center doesn't offer childcare and the nearest why is 30 miles away. I am on my feet at work all day so I do get some exercise running around, It is not like I am a couch potato. i just want somewhere to start0

I agree with everyone you have to make time for you. And I agree with those that say pop in a dvd and have them do it with you because thats what I have to do sometimes with my little ones. I work over nights and am tired all the time, but I have come to learn when I workout I have alot more energy then I used to. Even if you have to start off with just 10 to 15 min a day something is better than nothing.0
