Do most people follow a meal plan or eat what they like and keep within their calories?. I have always found it hard to eat what someone tells me to eat. CanI eat what I want, say within my calories and still lose weight?

I think it's also about keeping within other boundaries, such as sugar/carbs, because if you ate 1,200 calories worth of cake a day, I'm sure you wouldn't lost weight because of the sugar, etc!0

You don't have to follow a meal plan if you don't want too. You can still choose your own foods and lose weight...you just got to be conscious about what you are putting in your mouth! I like to use meal plans created by others like at sparkpeople.com for ideas for different meals and such. But yes, you can lose weight by not following a premade meal plan.0

You can eat what you want and lose weight! For example, the twinkie diet, the potato diet.... may not be healthy, but it can be done! Just keep your nutritional rules in mind and eat what you want. It's working for me! I always failed when someone was telling me what I could and couldn't have, or that I had to eat something at a certain time of day ... or what ever the current fad diet was. I am a reasonably intelligent person that KNOWS what I have to do....just don't wanna do it sometimes! lol0
