A different kind of success!

While my husband and I have both lost this week, I wanted to share a different kind of success.

Yesterday, my two youngest kids and I went to Chik-Fil-A for lunch. Here are a couple of things I noticed:
1) I ordered fruit for them instead of fries with their chicken nuggets
2) I ordered a grilled chicken salad and WATER to drink.
3) They kept wanting to nibble on my salad!

You cannot believe my happiness when they both ate BROCCOLI! We called them trees, but still, THEY ATE SOME!!!! This is a major accomplishment because neither one of them have ever really liked broccoli.

I am so glad that I can be a good example for my children. I don't want them to have to learn the hard way.

One other thing I've noticed. They are drinking more water instead of milk and flavored drinks.

That's one thing I wish my parents did for me , so it is definitely a goal for me to make sure my kids are eating healthy!!!! Keep up the good work..................
  • That's awesome! One day your kids are going to be asking for broccoli! I have a 14-year-old son who loves it and doesn't want cheese or butter on it - just salt and pepper. It's awesome! Good for you!

That's so grreat!! My parents did not do that when I was a child and it has been such a struggle for me. My main goal has been to do that for my kids so that they don't have to learn to deal with veggies.
Very impressive, super mom. : )

That is so wonderful! I'm seeing my youngest at home do the same in small ways. You can talk about healthy all you want, but they will have the lifestyle you have. That's the tough part of parenting, being that role model! It seems to ripple out when you do things and your ripples are all good!!
