Why am I shaky?

Hi! Joined MFP about 3 weeks ago and have been doing GREAT! Although the last 2 days I've felt very shaky with heart beating slightly faster and shallower than normal. Also a LITTLE lightheaded, not bad though. Anybody have any insight into why I feel like this? Is it just the abrupt change in eating and exercise catching up?

Are you drinking enough water, eating you calories. I get like this when I dont drink enough or eat.0

I've been having the same problem. I think my body just isn't used to all this 'good for me' stuff (I went from a strict diet of diet coke, wine and mac and cheese with no exercise at all to water, veggies, and 30-60 min of exercise/day). I thought it was b/c my blood sugar was low (similar symptoms) but that's not it. If anyone has better insight, let me know!0

I agree that it's probably lack of sufficient calories and hydration. Of course, you could just have a slight cold.0

Shaking after exercise means that you're doing a good job! Just make sure you're cooling down instead of stopping abruptly.
Also be sure to eat something high in carbs about 45 minutes before your workout, it seriously works wonders. 20 minutes on a treadmill feels like 12
I'm no doctor, but you may be shaking today because you worked out super hard yesterday. That's what happens to me.
Doing cardio every day is good for the heart, but lifting weights every day (especially if you just started working out!) may not be such a good idea. Take it slow.0 -
Hi friend are you having too much coffee while on a lower calorie diet? This can cause elevated heart rate....check your diet for hidden caffiene too....check those labels...are you having nasty diet drinks? I am a certified peronal trainer and have seen this alot. How much water do you drink? How many calories do you injest? How much protien per day? You should feel BETTER not worse on a clean diet so something is amiss here. Cheers, Marian in Massachusetts0

Perhaps you're not getting enough protein. I've just recently discovered protein balls and LOVE eating one after my workout. They are loaded with protein and are a great recharge after my work out. They are super easy to make. Just search for protein balls on the net. I'm using Zuzana's protein balls.
I know if I'm ever feeling weak or shaky I'm not eating enough protein or drinking enough water.0 -
