…..for quitting smoking! I joined MFP a few months after I quit to maintain my weight and make sure that I wasn’t stuffing my face all the time. I gave myself one year to be smoke-free without making any other drastic changes. Well, not only did I manage to maintain my weight, I lost 8 lbs in the process with watching my diet and walking on a regular basis (I have heard it is very hard to lose weight during the first year of not smoking, which is why I set my goal for one year).

So for my one-year anniversary, I joined a gym and last night was my first session. I LOVED it and felt wonderful after my workout. I have a sort of ‘personal trainer’ that will go around with me until I get a program down that I like…and since I have to make appointments for this reason for all my sessions, I can’t really talk myself out of going.

And as a bonus, my mother-in-law remembered that it has been one year since I quit, so yesterday she stopped by and gave me a card and paid for my membership fee and first month at the gym!!

So, now it’s time to lose the weight I wanted to lose before I quit smoking. The great part is I have already lost half during this year. But now it’s time to really kick butt and get the rest of this weight off – hopefully within the next two months! Wish me luck!!!

Congratulations on your anniversary. Great job on quitting smoking. I know how hard it is, I quit over 3 yrs ago. You've shown you have the willpower. You can do this. Hugs
