Morning! (or afternoon!, I guess)
So, get this, my Dr. is concerned about my pain levels, and wants to re-evaluate weight training for me. I'm seriously considering switching to pilates and yoga, and leaving the dumbells on the floor. It's sort of scary, but I was seeing more upper body-definition (and "leaner" lines) when I was just doing Yoga. So, I continue to be a work in progress. My massage yesterday involved a lot of "Ouch!" in surprising places. (apparently, my forearms are pretty stiff? Go figure) Also, I'm realizing that the "body as resistance" combined with stretching in Yoga is crucial for me.
Today, I"m going to spin class (very exciting, since it allows me to eat thai food for supper) but I'm going to try a new gym next week (they'll let me try it for a month because it's right above where I get my haircut) My current gym continues to change the rules (latest annoying one: spin bikes are for spin classes only, so I can't use one on my own time) but still charge me the same. . .grr.
OOOOH, I am oozing negativity today. On the upside, it's a beautiful day, and I was able to reserve a spin bike this a.m.
Take care of yourselves today!

Okay Viviakay, I might be about to put my foot in my mouth, but I thought you were older than you are. Let me explain. I hadn't looked at your profile (at least not in a long time). I saw you had lost 88 pound so I went to see before and after pictures (Way to go girl!) and I realized you are only 37. The reason I thought you were older is because your posts are full of wisdom. So I guess I ought not judge a poster by her posts huh? I hope all that came out the way I meant it to. I mean to say you are wise in your young age!
Anyway, before I get in trouble (or more trouble)....I am working on my car today. Gotta love sanding! I hope to get the door painted and ready to put on this weekend, but I still have a lot of work to do. I have one door ready to go on. I just need a little help since the doors weigh about 100 pounds each. It's very very hot outside too, which doesn't help. So that is my work out today. And I went to the grocery store(s) again this morning. Hope everyone's weekend is going great!0 -

:blushing: Wise? Me? God bless you. Especially for saying "only 37" my last birthday was surprisingly straining. There's a lot of power in "almost 40" intimidation wise. . .
Good luck with your doors! I can't wait to see the "before and after" pics of your ride! And if you ever find a 67 Mustang to restore for me. . .well. . .let's just say you'd have my eternal gratitude0 -
Alright, I was depressed for two days and am now over my mom. Didn't help the timing coincided with my most emotional week as well :grumble:
Tomorrow is a new day and a new month. I am going to do at least a half-hour on the gazelle here in a bit to kick it off on the right foot. My husband and I are watching a world class track meet on ESPN so I'm feeling motivated. Remember that I was a runner through college, so please think me a bit less dorky for our viewing selection!
Yeah, I'm a dork. I'm willing to admit that
See you all tomorrow!

Hi Ladies!
Well it's pretty late in the day but I figured I'd post anyway. Vivia -- I'm curious to see what your doctor recommends. And "body as resistance" -- did you mean just using your own body weight to go deeper into stretches during yoga? I love that.
Mechanicmom -- I'd be curious to see how many calories sanding and door-maintenance burns! Do you ever wear a HRM when you're working on your sweeeeet ride?
I just got back from the gym. I'm wrapping up the heavy week of exercise so today I burned 900 calories (yesterday was a day off for me).
I am SO tired. Going to go for a long hot soak in the tub and then bed. I'm so glad my date canceled...0
