I'll try to keep this short! I've been here at MFP for 20 days. Before that I was a compulsive over eater and making this change has been so very challenging. I now stay between 1500 and 1850 and exercise almost daily. I've lost 12 pounds!
Well, last night my husband and I took a trip to the grocery store- the one where I would always buy the pack of 12 brownies and east them all. This time I was determined not to get them.. However like usual we leave the store with them. Well if this was a few weeks ago I would have eaten 4 on the way home and then finished the rest when we arrived. This time though I was determined to have none and just leave them for the kids I had one... On the rude home. Then I had one tonight.. And that's ALL. I know I should have had NONE but this is a big deal for me. However I ate the brownie about 2 hours ago, lifted some weights and soon I'll be going to bed for the night... I'm still under my cal goal.... Is this likely to hurt me?
Ps. Learned I can't visit the store anymore.

Are you kidding girl? That's amazing progress! Don't stress over it. If you're under your calorie goal, you're good to go. One (or 2) little brownies every once in a blue moon is not gonna slow you down. That's so great - you've made a big change. Congrats!0

I agree, that is amazing progress!! Habits like that are VERY hard to break. I am (was!!) a binger too. You can take masses of confidence from this...you KNOW you can do it now. (break the habit) Well done to you and keep up the good work...you will succeed at this, your head is in the right place and you are doing brilliantly! :flowerforyou: xx0

Awesome progress!! Don't flip about a brownie!! I have a cupboard of contraband treats that every few days I have 'one' of. That way I don't feel like I'm depriving myself and less likely to binge. I will even have soda now and then and stay close or under my calorie goal. You can do it! This is a marathon, not a sprint. I've chosen MFP as a lifestyle choice and NOT a diet, therefore I need to learn to balance it with LIFE, Birthdays, Christmas, etc. Bad days here and there are normal but for the long haul, you'll still lose! Trust me, I'm still losing. Slow and steady wins the race!0

I agree compared to your old habits you did really well to resist temtation. The fact that you were/are thinking about your food choices is amazing!! Keep up the great work peppers
P.S I binged on chips the other day..UGH...hasn't hurt my weightloss though since I have been exercising and eating well for the most part.0
