Calorie cycling question

hi I'm new to mfp and calorie counting...seriously never counted in my life so looking for advice. I read something online about needed to "zig zag" or cycle calories so your body doesn't get used to your intake and lower your metabolism. Makes sense but does anyone know how many calories is enough or what you should aim for?
Thanks I appreciate any tips!

Hi, I'm working on that theory too. I think it's true. I'm throwing in a day of fasting here and there (only done one so far). As a nurse I learned our bodies try to maintain a certain homeostasis which is it's level of normal. So throwing it a curve continually keeps it working harder. That's my thought any way.0
