Hey everyone! Hope you are all having a great start to the new year! I had a question and a concern with my Polar FT7.
Question: Do I need to adjust the settings as I lose weight? I wasn't sure how much that affects the reading if you don't change the weight as you lose....
Concern: Sometimes after I am ready to start my workout, it doesn't read my heart rate. It just shows 00.....Is something wrong???
Thanks so much in advance for your help!

I have the FT4, and have not had to adjust settings as I've lost weight. It has also never (or maybe once) displayed 00. This isn't right, it should sense your heart rate before you start to workout. If anything like that happens with mine, I usually adjust the strap to make sure contact is good between my skin and the sensors. Here is a link to their website to troubleshoot...

I have that same one and I've never had that happen  Are you getting the strap wet (underside of where the transmitter snaps on) before you put it on? You need to get it quite wet right there and make sure it's fitting snuggly. And as you lose weight you should adjust your weight setting to get an accurate calories burned record. The heavier you are the more calories you burn. A 170 lb person will burn more calories than a 140 lb person will doing the same activitiy, same pace, same time. Hope this helps.0
