My son has seen that as seen on tv pan for brownies. Well I got it from my uncle for Christmas. He has been asking me to make some brownies. While we were at the store I just grabbed a Betty Crocker mix of brownies. I did not grab the reduced fat because you hear so many bad things about the reduced fat ones.. So I have heard there are different things you can use rather then the oil and what not. Can anyone help me out with what to do. I would like to enjoy a brownie with me son.

Thanks!

  • just use a large can of pure pumpkin with the dry mix. Make awesome really moist brownies. Good Luck.

Hi! Here are a few ideas:

    - Sub no sugar applesauce for 1/2 the oil (you can use it for 100%, but it really makes the texture different)
    - Use baby food prunes (really!) in place of the oil
    - Use canola oil in place of vegetable. Not lower calorie, but healthier
    - Simply cut back on the oil used

you can replace the oil with unsweeten applesauce. They will be still moist and much lower in fat. Good Luck!
  • There's a fat free brownie mix called No Pudge that is made with fat free yogurt instead of oil and is delicious! You can't tell it's fat free in my opinion. I've also heard you can substitute 3/4 cup to 1 cup of applesauce for 1 cup of oil or butter, but it doesn't always taste the same. That's why I'd definitely go with the No Pudge mix. Hope this helps!
