Walking

When I think about the exercises I enjoy most, I always come back to walking. It's natural, it gives me time to reflect on good things, not-so-good-things I want to change... all of that. So, why is it that I always feel the need to almost "kill" myself instead of remembering that the most important thing I can do [to lose weight] is track my calories and eat very healthy. That's where the pounds begin to drop. Exercise is supplemental. WHY do I forget that?
Anyway, I'm wondering who else walks for exercise and what kind of success have you had with it?
*Frustrated with my over-thinking*
