Calories Again

I was just talking to a teacher and he was saying that say you ate a slice of bread at 100 calories and a marsbar the next day at 100 calories he was saying that the mars was full of sugar so it would put weight on you. I thought that all the food on this site took all that into consideration.??????

Its calories in calories out...to lose weight the number going in needs to be less than the ones going out. Each of the items is 100 calories. Depending on the bread, one may be healthier for you than the other.

Without getting into all the science, all calories are not equal. The body turns certain calories into fat easier than others. Sugar most easily, fat, then carbs, which have simple and complex types. What your teacher says is correct, but keep in mind over a 24 hour period we're looking at an aggregate. As long as your diet doesn't consist solely of mars bars, you should be fine if you stay in your calorie range.
Use the daily nutritional goals on the food page as a guide (grams sugar, fat, carbs) etc.
