Hey guys...I'm a little concerned that I'm not actually eating the right amount of exercise calories.
When I walk on my treadmill at 4 mph for 30 minutes it says I burn anywhere from 350 to 375. When I enter it here is says I only burned 204. Which should I go by?

I have noticed that as well. I tend to go with the lower number. I figure it builds up a little cushion and it is also better to underestimate on this. With my food if I am not sure I will over estimate a little on the calories. I think this works out better for me and is probably a little more realistic.

Calorie counters on the machines are notoriously inaccurate.

For me, my HRM always clocks me in at anywhere from 50-100 calories less than the gym machine. I've found that overall, MFPs estimates are more accurate.

Thanks! I guess I will have to invest in an HRM to get a more accurate reading.
