Hi all
I've been a little MIA this weekend....ran into a brick with my toe and it snapped...like a twig
Anyway, I'm a little stressed that I am supposed to keep it elevated and ices and NO walking or working out for a while I'm still going to do some of my floor/abs stuff)
Anyway break a toe and how long before you were up and running

:grumble: I'm sure that is very frustrating! I've never done that...0

I broke my little toe several years ago. It's never been the same. :frown: Now it sticks up. When my foot is on the floor, I can put my finger between the little toe and the floor. I was off work for a few days but I couldn't afford to take more than that off. It was hard to wear a shoe on my right foot for awhile. If I had wanted to run it would have been longer than that, I'm sure. Good luck to you.0

My friend did it on April 1st (her little toe) - I thought it was a joke at first
Anyway, she was off it for about 3-4 weeks, but could do the elliptical and stationary bike before that. She was probably off everything 7-10 days, then could do slower walks.
Good luck. Maybe it's a good time to try pilates. At least it's some form of exercise.0 -
double post - sorry:grumble:0

I feel your pain! I've been recovering from a broken ankle for the past month. My orthopedic doc says that you can start walking on any broken bone as soon as you want as long as you use common sense. I started walking again after being off my feet for 2 weeks. Start back gradually. I am back up to 2 miles a day but it is still sore. Even if you are getting around with crutches you are burning calories. Actually, more calories are burned while using crutches than just walking ordinarily! Be careful & best of luck!0

Maybe military doctors are a littttttle different.....
I broke my little toe and the one next to it several years ago when my hubby was still in the Navy, and we were seeing military doctors. Anyway, the guy taped them together, said to take Tylenol for pain "until my ears rang and then stop," and said I could do anything I felt like doing, and no need to come back.
I've broken the same little toe a few times since then but never bothered to go back to the doctors--now I just tape it up myself when it happens!0
