Could ear buds cause chronic ear infections?

I've read a little about this tonight from varouis sources so I thought I'd ask you all here.
I've had terrible ear pain, dizziness, pressure, etc the last couple years and have been to many doctors who can't help me. Then out of the blue, I thought of this tonight.
I stick the ear buds in my ear, work out, toss them in the arm rest of the truck, and repeat that 5-6 days a week for months and months and months not even cleaning them (except every 6 months or so when they break and new ones are bought).
So I'm curouis if you have had ear infections from ear buds? And if cleaning them with alcholol before / after each workout would solve that?

I don't know for sure, but I think that you are definitely onto something there. I do clean mine, but I'm just weird like that. I clean everything - I'm a little OCD like that. It probably wouldn't hurt if you bought some of those little alcohol wipes and just wiped them down after each use. I do this and I haven't had any ear infections, which isn't saying I'm right, but like I said...it couldn't hurt.0

I've never gotten ear infections, but after a day at the office with them in, on the drive home I get 'ghost buds' where I feel like they're in even when they're not...0

I know that where I work you have to wear ear plugs because of the noise level. They had the reusable kind and lots of people, including me once, had trouble with ear infections. They went to the wear once and toss out kind. Problem decreased. So I would say to clean them everyday and keep them in a clean place. It can't hurt. Have you tried the hydrogen peroxide flush. I do that about once a month to keep build-up of gunk down.0

Just keep them clean BUT don't put anything in your ear...that will make it worse!!!!0
