Hi my name is Brooke, I live in Phoenix Arizona..land of liposuction..which I will never do! I have struggled with my weight since college was over and I find myself getting bigger every year. I have tried everything...had 3 personal trainers all of which I lost weight with but gained it all back and then some. I have tried crazy diets,...same thing happened. Now whenever I get started on losing weight I fall off the wagon. I feel like a hampster in a wheel and I can see myself getting bigger. My big girl pants dont even fit as of this week, and I refuse to go up another size. Every year I have gone up one size and I am just devistated. I am afraid if I dont get this weight thing under control of how it will affect my relationship. I am sure its just me being self conscious..and I am sure its not that big of a deal to him, but I am 20 pounds heavier then I was when he met me and I am only 5'3, thats a lot of weight on a short person. Anyway I found the website by just looking for a calorie counter...can't beleive this website exists and its free. Thank god! Its alot of work anyway to lose weight let alone trying to count and keep track by hand what you eat everyday. I really want to make it work this time and I want to do it the right way. I am so glad I found this and all of you.

Glad you have found us.
This is a great place where you can come in, make yourself at home, take off your shoes and put up your feet. I haven't been here long, but i can already see that it is all about being there for one another, and lending a helping hand, ear, shoulder, or whatever is required. We are deffinatly all here to get healthy. That is the most important thing. So...come on in, enjoy yourself, and get healthy with us.0 -
Hello Brooke! Welcome! Wishing you no more hamster moments, but more the steady goes it on the straight path with just a few dips....hmmm, wonder what kind of animal that would be.
Much success!0 -

Welcome and good luck to ya!

What I've found since joining this site is that I'm really able to think in terms of life change instead of diet. Maybe because its so easy to use and straightforward... I don't know. What I do know is that with a diet it seems to give a mindset that it has a beginning and end. That if you eat something "bad" you've failed. For me, there is no "cheating" or failing. If I want to eat something, like the cupcake I had with my son the other night, I have it. I count the calories, make sure that I'm not over calories by adding some extra exercise where needed and that's that. That's REAL life, as far as I'm concerned. I think in order to get off the yo-yo that so many of us have been on for so long we need to think in terms of real life and what can we continue to do for ourselves for the rest of our lives. Anyway, glad you joined us!
+++POSITIVE THOUGHTS+++ Brooke!!! :flowerforyou:
