And I am in need of loosing baby weight.... hoping this will help keep me accountable. I really struggle with exercise and I know I don't eat right, this will help me figure out what I am doing wrong. Does anyone know how to get "points" for breastfeeding or if there is a way to incorporate it into your daily requirements?
Happy to chat with any other new moms out there!

Don't quote me, but I used a Prevention magazine web site similar to MFP, and it gave you 500 extra food calories per day while breast feeding. You can go to goals and individualize your net calories allowed to reflect this. Hope it helps.

GOOD FOR YOU FOR BREASTFEEDING!! Too many women don't and it's unfortunate! Kudos to you! =)

Yep, 500 calories/day if you are exclusively breastfeeding... less than that if you are doing a lot of supplementing or if baby is already on solids quite a bit.

    Welcome to MFP!
