Yes, if I'm understanding you right, negatives and red text means you went over your daily goal in that category, green text means you're under.

The one on your home page?

This is what I see on my summary right now?

    1301 Calories Remaining

    Goal Food Exercise = Net
    1630 1791 - 1462 329

If your net is -485 it's because you exercise more than the food calories you ate during the day. But if your calories remaining is -485 it means you ate that much calories over your daily allowed calories.

    I hope this help you...

Yes...it means you went over on net calories. Make sure you've logged all your exercise, and hit "complete this entry" on your food diary. If you still have a negative number, you can always do some more exercise to get the number back in the green, or not... ;-)

If you burned more calories in exercise than you ate, then your summary would be an even larger (+) number of "calories remaining", and MFP would give you the warning when you completed your food diary (telling you that you need to eat at least 1200 cals). And like Chantal stated, the "net" would be a negative number (under the summary number).
