Hey guys ,
I am new to this whole thing. I've tried diets before an no results.. I don't know where i am going wrong . Well for one i don't ever have the time to get to the gym having three kids and all ( only one of which is in scool ) .. So where should I start ? I am wanting to loose some weight and get back my pre-baby belly and pre-baby weigt .. You know a flatter belly that would be nice . Where should I start ? What type of exercise should I do ? What kind of diet should I be on. Any advice would be nice .

Welcome! Simply put, when you set up your account here at MFP it assigned you a daily calorie goal based on the information you gave it. As long as you adhere to it you should lose weight. No special dieting really necessary, just find the sorts of foods that fill you up and let you stay within the goal. Lean proteins, fruits, veggies and fiber are good for that. Whenever you do any exercise and enter it in, MFP will give you "extra" calories that you can then eat if you are still hungry. Find something that you enjoy and can stick with. Something as simple as a walk around the neighborhood can burn a hundred or so calories. Good luck :)

I started with simply logging in a typical day of eating. Then I took a look at where I should cut back. If I ate a 500 calorie breakfast and went over my calories for the day, the next day I made sure to eat a smaller breakfast and just tried to trim calories through the day, eating fewer calories at each meal or snack than I had the day before. The next thing I know, I got it down, so I went of MFP after I lost 8 pounds in 4 weeks and gained 4 pounds back in one week. So now that I have surpassed my goal and would like to maintain, I'm staying on MFP to keep things in check. There are such a variety of workouts to do, so I mix it up to keep it interesting. I was surprised how many exercises are in MFP. Everything from house cleaning to playing wii. Check it out. =)
  • Hi there, i,m exactly the same situation i have 4 boys , 2 teenagers 19 and 17 an 11 year old and a 3 year old, finding the time is hard when there are young kids around. I find that using the wii is really good as i can,t get out 2 the gym. I am also sticking to a diet of 1200 calories a day, this is only my 3rd day at this diet but i,m trying hard. Hope this helps X:smile:

im also a mother, but i have 4, 2 at home 2 in school. you dont have to have a gym, i walk in place while i watch tv, or cook dinner, if you have stairs you can walk up and down them for a set amont of time. i have never ever had any kind of results from dieting, but on here i have already lost 10lbs and i have been here less than a month. if i can do it so can you.
