My resolution for this year was to enter and complete 3 races this year. I may walk this first one, but I will complete it.
I will be doing another one I believe in the spring and I'm HOPING to attempt the half marathon this fall.

Anyone have any good tips/pointers for a race newbie?

Also, any ideas for good running shoes? I have a pair of addidas running shoes, but they just don't feel all that comfortable.
Ideas greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

Have you done the Couch to 5K program? That's a great plan to start with if you're training, you see a lot of success and it keeps you from pushing yourself to the point where you're not having fun and quit.

There are some podcasts with music that walk you through that workout. They're really a lot of fun.

Running (and racing) is addicting! Watch out! I have to limit myself to one event a month, or I'd be racing every weekend.
