Good morning everyone! Gosh, thanks so much for the words of encouragement on keeping this thread going. Some days I wondered how many people were getting frustrated seeing ANOTHER post from me for a check-in! I'm just guessing that a DAILY check in is a motivator for at least a few other people besides myself!

Anyway, yesterday I did my 15 minutes of warm-up & cool-down, the 20 minute Biggest Loser Strength & Sculpt workout, 20 minutes on my recumbent bike, and 12 minutes from the Dance Baby Dance Cardio Postnatal Workout. I'm just trying to really mix things up with my exercise to see if it will help boost my weight loss... And, no matter if it kicks my numbers up or not, it can't hurt, right?!

Hope everyone has a fantastic, exercise filled weekend! YOU CAN DO IT!!! And, if nothing else works just think about the fact that YOU want to add something to the thread to show how you are meeting your goals!

Hi Niccole! I truly find myself looking forward to your post! Thanks for keeping it up. Sounds like you had a great workout day yesterday!!!

This morning I got up and did a spinning class followed by 35 minutes on the BEAST (my pet name for the stairmill that looks like an escalator) and 15 minutes of strenght train. It was a good one this morning! I'm gearing up for my weekend!!! I'm having a dinner party tomorrow night, so I'm a little nervous about the food part...

    Happy Friday!
  • This morning I took a 1 hour spinning class. I'm going to go ahead and check in for tomorrow too....I will be taking another 1 hour spinning class as well.

    Happy Friday!

I just went for a 45 minute walk with a co-worker. I took my 3 lb weights and now my arms are so shaky, I can hardly type!!!

  • Hi Niccole (and everyone else too)!

This morning I walked on the treadmill for 35 minutes, then I worked on the Elliptical machine for 20 minutes. It was hard getting up this morning, but after I was done I was so glad I did.

Blew it totally yesterday - walked the dog, but didn't do elliptical or bike, my old body felt like it had been run over by a truck, plus I ate 1,000 extra calories yesterday.

Today, I am going into the Provincial Park with the dog and I'm going to hit the hiking trail and do a good 45 minutes. That should help!

Well haven't done anything YET - have a "workout date" in an hour, finally someone to go with me and keep me motivated! I plan on walking/jogging on the treadmill for 30 minutes

I was in a bike shop a few days ago (during trick-or treating with my boys) and looked longingly at their area set up for a spinning class. I wish I could try it! I wish I could do a lot of things though. Due to an ankle injury a number of years ago I'm pretty limited in my exercise opportunities. Oh well. Those of you spinning - HAVE FUN!!! Everyone is doing GREAT with their exercise! Keep it up!

Niccole, you've mentioned before that you ride your stationary bike... is it a recumbant? I'm curious about your ankle injury.

    Katie,

Four or five years ago now (time flies, maybe six?) I broke both of the bones in my left leg while playing ice hockey. The ball of the ankle was completely broken off the leg bone and all of the cartilage was severed. I had a bad 1st surgery that required a 2nd surgery – which unfortunately resulted in a major infection negating any advantages from the surgery. I no longer have any cartilage in my ankle (so when I walk its bone grinding on bone) and due to the build up of scar tissue, I have no movement in my ankle. It is “stuck” at a downward angle - I have to wear approximately 2” heels at all times. I need to have 1 more surgery to have my ankle completely fused which I’m told will take away my chronic pain. Unfortunately, I have an infant & a toddler and don’t see the prospect of being on crutches for up to 6 months as an option any time soon. So… I recently (within the last year) found that for some reason a recumbent bike does not put any strain on my ankle. An upright bike causes pain. I can walk BUT if the ground is unlevel or it’s for too far then I end up in so much pain that I have to crawl to the bathroom in the middle of the night because I’m unable to put any weight on it. Sometimes I just deal with that pain. I have little ones after all and can’t just sit around. I’ve been trying some exercise dvd’s lately, wearing my heels, of course, and just making adjustments as needed (like I can’t do jumping jacks). I’m really hoping that losing weight will help with some of the pain – 65 less pounds of weight grinding has got to feel at least a little better, wouldn’t ya think???

Anyway, sorry this got long… the whole thing is still a bit frustrating for me! Imagine going from playing ice hockey 3+ times a week to NOTHING! No wonder I gained as much as I did!

Owww and owwww Niccole! :noway: That sounded painful. And you are still dealing with it constantly. My wish for you is that the time until your next surgery for the fusion will pass fairly quickly. (without losing all the precious moments with your babies). Here's to hoping for easier days ahead and a surgeon that is great at ankle surgery!
