Just wondering if anyone out there was using any fat loss supplements (i.e. Hydroxycut, Ripped Fuel, etc.) as part of their diet?

I just started using Irvingia Gabonensis which I saw on Dr. Oz as a supplement you should have to help your diet. I bought it at the vitamin shoppe because GNC didn't have it in the store but they do have it online.

I never heard of that one - Dr Oz seems like a no BS guy and I dont think he would sell out and promote something questionable. Did he say what it does?

I tried some caffeine based supplement based for a while (from Europe, I think the name was X eLLe S) and it made me shaky and nervous all day long. I did help my diet by suppressing hunger. But when I stopped I couldn't control my portions because I wasn't used to feeling hungry anymore. I mean, moderate hunger is normal after all...

It's really up to you but personnally I wouldn't do it again!

"There is interest in using supplements containing Irvingia gabonensis for weight loss, lowering cholesterol levels, and improving control of diabetes. This segment today was on Dr Oz Dr Oz African Mango – Irvingia Gabonensis For Weight Loss Three Must Have Vitamins For Weight Loss"

    "How does Irvingia Gabonensis Work?
Irvingia gabonensis seeds might lower cholesterol because of their high fiber content. The fiber increases removal of cholesterol from the body.

Some research suggests that Irvingia Gabonensis seeds might also effect fat cells, which might reduce fat cell growth and increase the breakdown of fats.

Over the years there have been three tests done Irvingia and weight loss. One test was done in 2005 two others were done in 2008. Two of these tests used a two test groups – one group was given placebos and one given Irvingia. The other test had three test groups. One of the groups were given a placebo, one was given a Cissus extract and one was given a combination of Irvirngia and Cissus. In all three tests the group using the Irvingia showed a significant weight loss over the placebo and the Cissus alone"
