Today is: a walk run if the rain stops, or HH Abs if it doesn't. I'm aiming for a five hundred calorie burn today, so I'm walking to the subway this am to supplement.

So, my shoulders and back feel much, much better today. Maybe my weights have been too heavy (note strange reluctance to give them up completely)? It's just that the fives and even the eights seem not heavy at all to me these days. I'll continue the experiment. Unsettingly, I sound like a bowl of rice krispies (mmmm....rice krispies) whenever I move, as I am cracking and popping like crazy, but that's better than the stiffness. . .

So, Mary, inspired by your picks I tried to pick up a leg in backbend pose (which I can't remember the proper name for) and. . .fell over. So, you continue to be my yogi hero. I find the "falling over" aspect of yoga to be remarkably therapeutic. It's good to laugh at myself. (I do it in a class situation as well. . .so I do my yoga at home a lot.)

I've turned this into a journal, so I'll post now.

Good workouts today, ladies! Take care of yourselves.

I enjoy our journal entries. It really helps explain what we are going through in our quest for fitness.

Laughing in yoga is important, thus my natural draw to Anusara yoga. It would be the only type of yoga I would consider getting certified in, though the newage stuff drives me bonkers. I know when I don't have to look at my hands to know right from left, I will have achieved my yoga teacher masters.

Yesterday, I walked a little over an hour and did yoga class. It's really hard to get people to do a pose when you are not demonstrating it. Kinda funny how people learn by example, not by words. Yoga class may have not burned that many calories as people requested a restorative (easy) class.
I'm going to try the elliptical today and will see how that goes.

    Namaste Y'all.

Doesn't laughing burn a lot of calories? I say laugh the entire time!

My report for today. I usually go to bed around 1 or 1:30 right? In bed by 10:30 last night from pure exhaustion. I woke up about 2am with a splitting headache. Then tossed & turned the rest of the morning till my son woke up.

I have taken medicine and still have the headache, am running a low grade fever and can barely swallow. Why is it when I just get started on the right foot the world pushes me back down? I feel like I have the flu (probably from my lifting yesterday) and know I need to take the day off, but it sucks!

    Snap, Crackle, Pop, Viva!

    Good Morning All!

Vivia, I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better. See..you have come to embrace the weights...you looooooove them....you cannot leeeeeeeave them...lol

Mary, I am facing a mental battle with handstands! I am inspired by you as well. It's so nice to hear from a teacher's perspective.

Arianne, take it easy on yourself! How is your son feeling?

I am absolutely overflowing with good feelings this morning! Love is in the air! I don't think I ever mentioned to you ladies but there is a guy that I've been dating...he pitches for the Chicago Cubs...we had to end things because long distance wasn't working (hence my forays into match.com). Anyway, we talked last night for a looong time and we are getting together this week...

What does that have to do with exercise? Well, not much. Just that I am feeling SPECTACULAR!!!! Seems like there are so many good things going on right now.

Okay, okay, enough personal posting! Here's the workout stuff:

    Yesterday:
~ Great resistance ball workout -- I haven't done that for a while. I got the workout from bodybuilding.com
~ 40 minutes cardio -- also tried something different: walking on the treadmill at an incline
~ MAJOR accomplishment -- spent the day at my sister's without touching her junk food

    Today:
    ~ Yoga booty ballet class
    ~ 40 minutes cardio
~ Biking to the gym and back

Hi ladies...last to post again. I did the Shred again this morning. Level One-I can't get used to the 20 minute thing. The video has rave reviews so I'm gonna stick with it for the 30 days but will incorporate a daily walk too. After going at it for at least an hour for all these months, I feel funny only working out for 20 minutes.

I'm also getting alot of housework and yardwork done so I feel pretty good.

    Have a good night all:flowerforyou:

Back again, I can add 2 hours of gardening in, yea! It's light work but it counts I guess, better than no exercise at all.
