NEW RULE TO ME FROM ME!

Hi - I joined MFP a while back but never really got into using it -- wasn't ever where I was. Now that I have it as an app on my phone, I'm having better luck. I'm either home near the computer or when I'm out, the phone is there. Love that mobile app.

I've been trying to have a serious lifestyle change since Sept. 2010 and do well for a while and lose weight then gain a few pounds back. I've really found the common factor between losing and not is the food diary. If I write it down, I generally stay within my calorie limits. If I stay within my calorie limits, I lose weight. So simple -- why did it take me this long to get it figured out?

So, as of yesterday I'm enforcing this new rule -- if I don't want to record it; I don't get to put it in my mouth. And, it's sure amazing what the MFP data base includes. It even has weird foods! Makes it do-able.

Anyone have any hint about a great way to use MFP that a newbie not have found yet?
