So, I understand that I am supposed to eat my exercise calories...no problem. But the days I need them I don't have time to go to the gym. Can my burn calories I got tonight count towards a dinner out on Thursday? Think an 'average' calorie intake/burn is OK? or do you have to burn/eat in the same day?

thats a really good question!!!! i am curious too. I did weight watchers last year and they give you 35 extra points to use whenever you want, you dont have to use them but they are there if you want to but you can not carry over into the next week. So maybe eating your exercise cals could be the same thing...just a thought. Id like to know what others have to say....

You body's metabolism and the chemicals it produces changes pretty frequently. if you provide yourself with too few calories for one day, then it will slow your metabolism for that day. If you provide yourself with too many on another day, it will slow your metabolism as well.

So while your calorie count can fluctuate somewhat from day to day, I would not recommend eating exercise calories on any day but the day you burned them.

Thank you for the information. I have a follow up question: Does your body's metabolism really change THAT quickly? From day to day? What I've read implied that it takes a period of time for it to change. Is that true or does every day really matter?
