Hi all,
So i usually work out from 6pm to 9pm and i was wondering if dinking this shake after my workout is healthy and will help me loose weight. I made it up and its all done from scratch not bought.

Ingredients:
6 strawberries
1 cup of 1% milk or fat free
.5 cup of carb smart ice cream
1 tablespoon of oat meal
1 tablespoon of nopalina fiber
1 tablespoon of grounded cinnamon

Blended and served.

Please let me know if this is a healthy choice and feel free to recommend other alternatives. I am type 2 diabetic so i do have to watch the carbs and fruits that are high on the GI.

  • One of the best post-workout drinks is chocolate milk. I have Kirkland Signature Organic Chocolate Reduced Fat Milk. A recent study showed - compared to plain milk, water, or most sports drinks, it has double the carbohydrate and protein content, perfect for replenishing tired muscles. Its high water content replaces fluids lost as sweat, preventing dehydration. Plus it packs a nutritional bonus of calcium, and includes just a little sodium and sugar -- additives that help recovering athletes retain water and regain energy. Chocolate milk provides carbohydrate replenishment to your muscles -- something they can metabolize!
    Good Luck!!

    Hey there,

I would suggest throwing in some protein powder in the shake.. specially if you are doing strength training... As per my personal experience... I would always choose for a combination of carbs and proteins after workouts. It works best for me !

    All the best ! :flowerforyou:
