Anyone buy Asda Fresh Tastes ready meals?

I have started to buy the ASDA Fresh tastes ready meal packs from their chilled section because they offer a quick and handy solution to my meal requirements and stop me from eating a big meal in the hotel at night when I'm travelling. The fact that they come in handy 1 serving packs and actually have fresh veg in them is an added bonus.

I have been logging the calories of the various meals but I am starting to wonder how correct the calories and nutritional values are on the back of the pack. It seems to me that you get an awful lot of meal for your calories (and your money). I have just had the Singapore noodles with chicken for lunch and according to the back of the packet it weighs in at only 368 calories and 11g of fat ... that seems very little to me taking into account that it is a 400gr pack and as such has less calories than my standard deep fill Tesco cheese and ham sandwich, which comes in at 565 calories and 27g of fat. Hell it's even less than a Snickers duo, which comes in at 486 calories and 27g fat.

Surely that can't be right that a full massive plate of what in essence is a take away is "healthy and low fat". How reliable and accurate are the calorie mentions on food packs and is there a way of checking them?

Absoloutely love the fresh tastes ready meals, we get them once a week or so, never had any problems with them for calories before, I know it's quite a heap of noodles but it doesn't seem to be highly processed stuff with added fat, only some oil in the dressing and the calorific value of vegetables is usually pretty negligable anyhow so I wouldn't worry. The best thing to do I think would be to look at the ingredients and see if there's anything unusually high in calories in there.

I may be going off half informed here but, i hear that packaging can be off by up to 20%. However, that being said, snickers are decidedly less hearty ingredients. if the ingredients in the frozzen meal are simpler, it could be true!
