A few months ago we did an entirely organic months with the whole family. Just switching to organic, I lost 10 lbs. I didn't diet or really watch amounts or calories, just ate it organic. And we felt alot better. What Im seeing now tho is organic tends to have more calories than organic does.
Now we do a mixture of organic, natural, and low cal. Just watching what is in the ingrediants. I tell the kids if the list is major long or words we can't say we are not eating it.

I agree with this completely. We have changed the way we look at food and make a lot of effort to eat "clean", though not always organic as it can be very expensive. I have gotten a little picky about meat though, and prefer to eat meat that is sustainably raised, grass fed, pastured, etc. as what the animal eats seriously impacts the nutritional value of the meat. Corn is way to prominent in our food supply. We have cut out all HFCS, won't buy anything with ingredients we cannot pronounce (usually...not always though) and subscribe to a CSA during the growing season to get organic produce direct from the farm to our table.

I purchases a book called "Stocking up" that helps me process the extra food by either freezing, drying, canning etc. When I get something in my CSA box that I can't use all at once, or don't know what to do with it, I refer to this book and make sure I home process my foods for storage so that I can use them later and not throw anything away.

Besides weight loss, my kids are very healthy, aren't plagued by some of the little sicknesses that keep coming around, we all have more energy and feel great because we're getting the fuel and nutrients we need.
