so since my cals are set to 1200, and it says my bmr is like 1600....i need to eat 1200 without exercise to make up for it then eat whatever i may burn off to make up for the loss of exercise?....AHHH! CONFUSING....so shouldnt i technically be eating 2200 a day?....does the cal counter take into consideration the bmr when suggesting what your cals be daily?

Yes and no. It takes BMR into account to calculate your maintenance calories, which is your BMR plus an activity level on top of that. From maintenance MFP will take off calories to create a deficit based on your goal. If you goal is 2lbs/week MFP will take your maintenance cals minus 1000. And to keep your 1000 deficit intact (not larger as more than 1000 cal deficit can be considered unhealthy) MFP adds back the cals you burned to ensure you lose your 2lbs nor more not less.

1200 plus the calories you burned during exercise. If you burn 400 cals and ate 1200 it is as if you only ate 800 cals (1200-400) to get you back to your goal deficit you must eat the exercise cals so you would eat 1600 cals (1200+400) and it would be as if you at 1200 (1600-400) and did not exercise. Hope this helps. Essentially MFP does all the calculations for you all you have to do is eat the total number of cals so if your goal is 1200 you would eat 1200 plus exercise cals.
