Feeling Frustrated

Hey everyone. Just wanted to share how I'm feeling and see if anyone has some advice for me. The last time I lost weight, I was losing 3-5lbs a week which kept me motivated. I started at 340lbs and was eating 1500 calories a day, working out 4-5 days a week. I got down to 265 that way, then plateaued and gave up. Now, I'm at 318, and MFP says that I should be eating 1990 a day. I've stayed below that every day, (with the exception of two days), while working out for an hour 5 days a week for the last two weeks. The scale wont budge!!!! I feel so frustrated because I feel like it's just not going to happen for me. Was it just those two irresponsible days that I went over or do I need to lower my calories? It's times like this that I usually turn to food, but I'm turning to you guys instead :)

God bless,
Krissa

  • It might be the two days catching up with you or maybe your hard work will show next week. Just keep going & think of the long-term. If you're exercising & eating right you WILL see a difference but sometimes it just takes longer than others which sucks I know.

Don't give up- keep going you can do it!!

It seems to me like you need to lower your calories! 1990 seems like a LOT. I am not much smaller than you, and my caloric intake is around 1200. I spoke with my doctor before beginning my diet, and he suggested eating between 1200-1300 calories/day in addition to working out.

Perhaps you should see a doctor or a nutritionist and they can help you figure out more definitely how many calories you should be taking in!

    Don't give up!
  • Lower your calorie intake.

You did it right the first time yourself, plateauing is the worst, but it happens to everyone thats when you change it up until something works.
  • thank you very much for your input! I think you're right, 1990 seemed like a lot to me, too. I'm lowering it to 1500 this week, and we'll see what the scale says next week. :)
