Since joining MFP I realize it's not a mystery why I'm fat. I seriously want to eat better. Any words of advice for a new beginner? I have a seafood allergy so that's out. I'm going to buy brown rice once my white is gone. I'm also going to eat more fresh fruit and veggies. I don't want to try living off of box meals because I love to cook too much for that. Plus for me, I'd rather know I don't have to not eat because I'm going somewhere that doesn't have a microwave. I can do this!!

  • Your absolutely right YOU CAN DO IT!!!! Some of the things I've noticed that helps is stick to the leaner meats like chicken, 93% lean ground beef and lean red meat. Does ur seafood alergy also pertain to white fish such as tilapia cuz its really good too!!! If so lean pork too. Watch ur sodium and fat intake the most, and try and moderate the sugary fruits such as the melons, banana's and grapes. Also make sure your eating ALL the protein if not more, statistically you should intake .5 grams of protein per pound of body weight!!! good luck!!!

I'm going to invest in some protein when I go grocery shopping at the end of the month. I haven't had an allergy test in years so I probaby should get one. But I do know that the smell usually makes me sick to my stomach. And if I think it stinks I won't eat it lol. I just don't want to feel like I'm doing this all wrong. I want to be health from the inside out.
