Supermarket Lunch

Last nights dinner didn't leave enough for lunch today so I am going to the grocery store for lunch. Part of my NY's resolution was to quit eating Lean Cuisine's and the like (sodium issues) and opt for whole foods. I also am following a glute-free diet and wonder if anyone has any new ideas for lunch?

Thanks and bon appetit!

i'm doing the same thing today....

i don't have the same limitations as you, so i was planning on getting some grilled chicken strips and a salad.

do you have a place to prepare food?

you could get some glute free pita bread (if they have any), some cream cheese (1/3 less fat), cucumbers and tomatoes.... you make it into a sandwich and it's oh so yummy... add in some low sodium deli turkey or chicken.... or you could forego the pita bread and use romaine lettuce instead....

now that sounds yummier than what i was planning on doing!lol
  • I tend to fall back on tuna or smoked salmon with gluten free crunchmaster crackers when I don't have dinner leftover.

I'm not gluten free so if anything I suggest has it just chalk it up to my ignorance. Also, I'm a rather eclectic eater so ignore the foods that don't appeal to you.

    Sardines in Olive Oil
Kippered snacks (though those are salty)
    Greek yogurt
    Nuts
Vegetables and dip (hummus for protein)
Pre-cooked chicken tossed into a salad
    Cheese
Lunch meat with a big blob of cream cheese rolled up in the center (Ham with Chive cream cheese is good!)
