NEEDED SUPPORT AND ADVISE ON INFERTILITY.

I KNOW THERE ARE OTHER SITES I COULD USE TO GET SUPPORT AND ADVICE, BUT THOUGHT I WOULD TRY HERE FIRST. I AM NEW TO MFP AND EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE COMFORTABLE HERE. I DIDN'T REALIZE HOW MANY COUPLES THERE WERE OUT THERE WITH INFERTILITY ISSUES AND HOW HARD IT IS TO DEAL WITH UNTILL NOW. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CONCIEVE FOR 2 YEARS. I HAVE A 9 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER FROM A PREVIOUS RELATIONSHIP, AND I KNOW THAT SHOULD BE ENOUGH FOR ME, BUT I AM NOW MARRIED AND WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A CHILD WITH MY HUSBAND, WHO HAS NONE OF HIS OWN. WE HAVE BOTH BEEN TESTED AND EVERYTHING SEEMS FINE. LAST YEAR MY OBGYN PUT ME ON 50 MG OF CLOMID FOR THREE CYCLES AND NO PREGNANCY RESULTED, SO SHE SENT ME TO A INFERTILITY SPECIALIST. HE HAD ME GO THROUGH ALL KINDS OF TESTS AND THE RESULTS WERE ALL NORMAL. MY HUSBAND WAS ALSO TESTED AND EVERYTHING WAS WITHIN NORMAL RANGE. THE NEXT STEP WAS IUI, SO APRIL 2008 WAS OUR FIRST CYCLE. I TOOK 100 MG OF CLOMID FOR 5 DAYS AND HAD AN ULTRASOUND ON DAY 12. I HAD 5-6 GOOD SIZE FOLLICLES SO I HAD TO GIVE MYSELF AN OVUDRIL INJECTION TO INDUCE OVULATION THE NEXT AM AND THEN IUI THE FOLLOWING MORNING. I HAD TO HAVE A BLOOD TEST DONE 1 WEEK POST IUI FOR PROGESTERONE LEVEL AND THAT WAS NORMAL, THEN ONE WEEK LATER I HAD THE PREGNANCY TEST. THEY CALLED ABOUT 4 HOURS LATER WITH THE RESULTS. **NEGATIVE** I WAS CRUSHED. :brokenheart: I THOUGHT THAT MAYBE THIS TIME I WOULD GET LUCKY. MY INSURANCE DOES NOT COVER INFERTILITY SO WE HAD TO PAY $1600.00 FOR THE IUI + MEDICATION.
I PICKED MYSELF BACK UP AND STARTED TO PREPARE FOR IUI #2. I WENT FOR MY FIRST BLOOD TEST AND ULTRASOUND ON MAY 23RD 2008. THE ULTRASOUND SHOWED NO CYCTS. THAT MEANT THAT IT SHOULD BE A GO FOR THE SECOND IUI, UNTILL I GOT A PHONE CALL LATER THAT DAY TO TELL ME MY ESTRADOL LEVEL WAS TO HIGH AND I WOULD HAVE TO POSTPONE IUI #2 UNTILL JULY. THINGS DO NOT SEEN TO BE GOING MY WAY.:sad: I HAVE NOT GIVEN UP HOPE YET, BUT IT IS GETTING CLOSE. I DON'T HAVE MANY PEOPLE TO TALK TO ABOUT THIS ONLY BECAUSE I DON'T WANT EVERYONE TO KNOW AT THIS POINT. IT IS HARD KEEPING EVERYTHING ALL BOTTLED UP INSIDE. :bigsmile: I know how u feel. I was married and went to a fertilty dr who told me my weight was a big concern. I have lots of issures as well.. My failed attempt to have a child has been heart breaking.. It did come as a blessing after all when after 3 years we got divorced. HOWEVER now I will be 30 this year have no kids but am in a GREAT relationship and would want to have one before its too late... All my friends have kids so its kinda frustrating... My advice.. loose the weight you need to loose and stop trying...It will happen.. when u least expect it... you dont seem to have much to loose. which is harder sometimes... but good luck and I pray for you.... Im very sorry to hear about your troubles having more children. I would try not to let it control your relationship or you might risk unintentionally or unknowlingly damaging your relationship in some way shape or form. Also be careful with what you wish for! Does the show John and Kate (who i love to hate!) plus 8 ring a bell? She was using all those drugs etc, now shes got herself a handful.

I wish you the best of luck, maybe just give it a break for awhile and try again in maybe a year? Its easy for me to say, but look at it this way, theres people having kids up into their 40's. Your not going anywhere.

Well I haven't had a problem with this personally, as I'm not trying to have kids any time soon, but my stepmom did. She and my dad tried for *10 years* to have a kid, and nothing! Then she started to exercise regularly and drank a lot less and...BOOM...pregnant! Now my little brother is 4 years old and almost as tall as me! :laugh: They never went for fertility treatment, and they never tried to find out if either of them was the "cause"...they just attributed it to the fact that my stepmom has just one ovary (she had an ectopic pregnancy) and they just weren't timing it right. There are a lot of options out there, so don't give up hope. :flowerforyou:

I feel your pain and frustration. I was married for 7 years before my oldest son was finally born. Every month seemed like forever until the next chance. Mother's Day was especially hard and I would cry because of my empty arms. I even had a crib set up and clothes ready just sure that next month would be the one. I too was on Clomid and had those horrible tests done with no answers. We finally gave up and decided we weren't meant to have children and moved on with our life. After many prayers and t ears, we were finally blessed.
I learned how to be greatful for what I did have, a wonderful husband and a good life. I'm a strong believer that things happen for a reason, though often we don't understand at the time. As hard as this is for you both, try to continue to enjoy life's journey and be greatful for your blessings. The Lord is mindful of you. Please don't turn to food, as I did, out of depression, it isn't the answer. We all have our trials and this is one of yours, but you will be stronger for it. I know it's soooo very hard, but keep positive and everything will work out for the best. Let me know how things go.:flowerforyou:

We have a couple in our church that have been trying to have a baby for 7 years now. I'm not sure if they have had fertility treatments or not but he was a little on the heavy side. He lost some weight and viola she got pregnant and they had a beautiful baby boy in December. I have also heard that a lot of couples have problems concieving when they are trying to hard , (stress levels too high?) and after they went on vaccation or started to just give up they got pregnant.One of the ladies I worked with adopted a baby b/c they told here she wouldn't be able to have any herself and guess what, they have 2 girls now. Take your time, maybe a vaccation and put your trust in God, he's the one that can make it happen . That's my 2 cent worth... I wish you success:flowerforyou:
