Anybody have any ideas as you lose weight how to keep your skin from sagging? Obviously that fat was hiding somewhere! Vitamins? Miracle lotion? Also stretch mark remedies?

bump! I've lost 65 lbs and tried to do it the best way possible for your skin... slowly. I still have loose skin issues and would love some suggestions for firming up. Thanks :)
  • That's a concern of mine too... I've just been making sure to drink a LOT of water & keeping my body moisturized constantly!

I have heard that eating the fat free cottage cheese and yogurts should really help. I am doing that along with lots of water!! Also, taking the weight loss slow will give the skin time to adjust. Guess I should have not had the lipo 10 years ago. I gained 47 pounds after it was done. So, I will be eating alot of cottage cheese!!

I don't think there is a magic cure all, but generally keeping hydrated is good for your skin. Drinking water consistently and moisturizing your skin is always going to help.

The only thing that I've heard of that works for getting rid of stretch marks is Bio Oil.

I met a lady a few months ago that lost almost 300 pounds and looks amazing. no tummy tucks/lipo...etc. She swears by green tea supplements and a teaspoon of cinnamon to keep the skin from sagging. It can't hurt to try!! They are safe and natural.

Losing weight slowly is supposed to help give your body the chance to let your skin shrink back. But, it depends on a lot of factors like how overweight you are, how long you were overweight, how quickly you gained the weight, your genetics, etc. Products that encourage the production of collagen (I like natural ones like Yes to Blueberries skin care products) can help reduce the appearance of stretch marks and can give your skin it's elasticity back. But, for some people nothing helps but skin removal surgery.

This may sound naive, do you put the cinnamon in the green tea and drink it?

maybe try cocoa butter for the stretch marks

as far as preventing loose skin, my guess would be use firming lotion daily throughout weightloss.

Lose weight slowly, drink water, and make sure you get healthy oils. The oils are good for your skin. I think almonds are some of the best nuts you can eat ( raw, not roasted).....also get olive oil and avocado's....
I know they are high in calorie content, but you need these healthy oils!
  • Lots of factors come into play...I have a FAQ about loose skin in my blog :)

IN the book Eat Clean recharged it says this plus eating lots of protein. I think it's related to collagen.
