  • I actually scanned all my music for BPMs (Beats Per Minute) and went with the ones I liked with the highest ratings. Here is my current list

    My Apocalypse - Metallica
    Vicarious - Tool
    The Pot - Tool
    Chasm - Flyleaf
    Mountain Song - Jane's Addiction
    Crystal Ball - Styx
    Floyd - Korn
    The Memory Remains - Metallica
Live and Let Die - Guns N Roses
    Everlong - Foo Fighters

All of the Tool songs were 190+ BPMs WOW!! These songs really get you moving.
All others were in the 150-160 range

This does not reflect my personal music preferences, but I found out that I LOVE crazy heavy metal when running. For example, Slipknot and Mudvayne. I think it's something in all the drums!! (When I'm not working out I'm a country girl at heart, lol!)

I find country difficult to work out to. Unless I'm just slow long bike riding and than its what ever is enjoyable to listen to. But I totally agree on the metal for running

For interval training I like a series by Sean O'Malley, Cardio Coach.

Number one song on my play list is " Are You Ready" by Creed. I always start any of my work-outs with this song after that it is a mix of rock, pop, hip-pop,and country. I got 80's rock, Eminem, Big and Rich, Kid Rock, Pink, ect. Gotta have the tunes. I'm not one of those people that can read/watch stuff while working out and the music becomes more background noise. But if it has a good strong beat to it I'll probably add it to my list.

Eye of the tiger, reminds me of many large scale Army runs in formation. I couldn't do it.

I agree, anything by Black Eyed Peas. I saw them in concert in Manila Philippines in 2004 and ever since I've been hooked. All their music I find to be upbeat and positive. Running, lifting..it just works.
