Accuracy of Heart Rate Monitors?

I'm curious about the accuracy of Polar heart rate monitors. Mine shows my heart rate at rest right now at 40.

    my friends is in the 40s. Mine is in the 70s at rest. I would check your own pulse and compare right away with the monitor. Or the next time you go to the doctor, wear your monitor and have them check your pulse and you can see if they match up.

    I have a polar FT4 and mine is really accurate.
