Finding time to excercise with kids around...

Hey all. I work 3rd shift and am finding a hard time to work out. I start work at 11pm and end at 7:30am and when I get home I'm either too tired to work out or the "terrible" two year old is running around the house. I guess chasing after her is a workout in itself but not the workout that I need. I would workout before work but don't want to get all gross and sweaty before work.
Any suggestions? There are times when I can workout in the am, but when I get home I just want to crawl into bed or do house chores.
Only wish there were 25 hours in a day.

Both my kids really like the work out videos. I have a 3 yr old girl and a 2 yr old boy and they both do them with me and get rather excited about it (well, they jump around a lot and that kinda thing lol). Or you can get out the stroller and take a walk, that counts too!
What type of workouts are you wanting to do?0 -
I dont know when you sleep, but I would rest or sleep shortly after you get home and then get up and exercise, either with a exercise dvd your 2 yr old would probably want to do it with you or a walk with the toddler in the stroller0

Have you ever tried working out while your daughter is in the room? I have heard other moms say that it helps them burn more calories because they are working out AND watching the child. Or perhaps she'll join in. My best friend's kids started jumping around while we were dancing in the living room and we just thought it was funny to watch, but we kept going to burn those calories!0

I don't know how far you live from work, but I walk to work (2.5 miles) and get the bus home.
It IS hard with kids and work. I bought an xbox kinect but I've only played it about 4 times since Xmas. I literally never have time. On early shift, I'm up about 5a.m. and get home around 3.30p.m. By the time I've hoovered, cleaned, tidied, made the tea, washed up, etc, it's about 7p.m. and by then, I have NO inclination or energy to start exercising!
Late shift is even worse!0
