different ways of doing sit ups ideas?

Hi, I've got a question and l'm hoping that someone might have an idea to help. I suffer from a balance problem that stops me from laying flat on my back and moving quickly to a sitting up position. I really want to work my middle section as that's my BAD area but not sure what exercises l could do at home to work the stomach muscle groups that wouldn't cause me to get dizzy. Any help would be great!
