Drain the fat question

I buy 93/7 ground turkey, which contains about 8 grams of fat. Is that before or after I brown the meat and drain it?

If it is before, and I do drain the fat...then shouldn't it be nearly fat free?

I believe it is before. You will have less after draining but at that ratio I doubt there will be much to drain. You can't get it all out.

i drain and rinse my ground meats with hot water, I know it doesnt get all the fat out, although when I put it in chilli or soup I dont see a grease ring after it cools down, so it has got to help.

1st-- luv you ticker picture-- I'm also a fan.
With regards to the Turkey Meat-- based on the comments I've heard on The Biggest Loser, there's still some fat in the turkey even if you drain the grease off. I've always steared to buying the Ground Turkey Breast-- it is the absolute leanest.
