When someone sees you and knows you've lost weight and they ask how much and you tell them and then they say.....

"Wow! __ Lbs! That's great....I can really see it in your FACE!" lol

Sorry, had to mention it. We went to lunch with my MIL today and she mentioned how good I'm doing and did that very thing. Cracks me up. I had no idea my face had been carrying the majority of the nearly 60 lbs I've lost. ;) teehee.

I know it's probably usually partly politeness (because who wants to go? Oh, you lost 60 lbs? Yep, I can def see a difference in your hugeeeee butt!, lol) But, still funny. ;)

I'm so glad no one has yet asked me if I was pregnant.....I get enough of "WHEN are you going to get pregnant?!" from everyone the last 3 years since we got married! haha.
I tell then, as soon as I lose weight and spend a year or two enjoying being thinner!! ;) So I've got a few years to go I hope!

I lived in a different state to my parents, so only saw them a couple of times a year. One year, on arrival, mum said (before even "hello") "Oh! You've gotten as round as you are high!"

Thanks mum, love you too, missed you a lot..... Hate to hear what she thinks now as I've probably put on 100 more lbs since then! (but am slowly trying to work them off again!).

When I went home to visit over New Years my grandpa said amidst my mother and new husband, "Ashley, are you still running? You look like you've put on some weight." lol.

When my kids came over this week they looked in the fridge then said, "I hate it when dad's on a diet. He never has junk food."

It's definitely taken a toll on my willpower to not eat all the fruit snacks and treats we have in the cupboards for the kids!

There's something in our society where people think they can make comments to overweight people and pregnant women. Advice, comments, remarks that they don't make to thin or unpregnant people.

Complete strangers take it upon themselves to given unwanted comments about weight or pregnancy.

And usually, they are backhanded compliments. "Wow, you look really good! Who knew you were so pretty!" Wow. What are you trying to say?

I don't like it. I try not to make any comment at all unless I'm a good friend of the person. Why? Because 10 to 1, the person doesn't want to hear it anyway and 2, sometimes what we say, and how it's taken are two different things.

I'm sorry I laughed so hard at this...lol your mom sounds like a hoot! Doubt this thread was meant to be as amusing as I found it but I have to say thanks for cheering me up, on the other hand, both times I was asked if I was pregnant and wasn't I shortly found out I was, so now I would run and scream if asked that question, for both reasons. :indifferent:

When I had my ovarian tumor, it caused my abdomen to protrude and everyone kept asking when I was due. Not friends, but strangers!

I find them rude. It's none of their business and I hated always having to think about it.

I just would answer, "Oh I'm not pregnant, it's a tumor." Yea. Idiot.

LOL This is just a touchy subject for me. People have no manners anymore.
