...water bottle.

Does anybody know how to get the stinky smell out of a new water bottle. It came with my water bottle holder and it smells yucky.

I've got no suggestions for you other than wash it about 10 times. I absolutely HATE that smell. I think it's why I only have two water bottles and I have had them both for about 8 years each. =) BLECKY!

that goofy plastic smell???? Try a heavy bleach and water solution but make sure you wash it out numerous times to get out the bleach..it should work, or I went out and bought a Sigg bottle a little spendy but its aluminum and doesnt have that smell

Well there are a couple of things that you can do.
The bleach thing is good but there are others.
Baking soda with water also does the trick. Then you do not have a bleach smell.
I have also put a can of coke in a plastic container that had a bad smell. Swish it around in there for a couple of minutes and dumb the soda down the drain. Rinse and see it that does not make it smell better.
7 up works very well for this too.

I never thought or knew of these, great ideas diann!!!!
  • Wow the coke thing makes perfect sense! They said in beauty school you could use coke to get gum, wax or any other sticky things out of hair, so I have to imagine it would work in a stinky water bottle!

And its good to know that I'm not the only one who HATES that smell! Ha ha!:ohwell:

    Thanks all!!
The reason I want to use it is because it fits perfectly into the holder. It doesn't bounce when running.

Ali, thanks for your love girl! It's a number 4 so I'm safe for now until they realize that 4 should have been included in the bad list!

    Thanks again!!!
