Harder Better Faster Stronger

During my morning commute today I was stuck in the middle of the train without a pole to hold on to. I've lived in NYC for years, and I've always wobbled precariously when I find myself without something to hold on to. I always groan internally when this happens because I just know I'm going to fall into the people next to me if the ride becomes turbulent. It's extremly awkward, but (I thought) unavoidable.
Well, it lurched forward as usual, but to my astonishment my core instinctively clenched to counteract the train. I stayed upright, as if it was no big deal. I was positively astonished, and it made me wonder what else my body will be capable of, now that I'm giving it the gift of strength. Thank you yoga. Thank you abs.
When we treat them right, our bodies thank us in the most unexpected ways.
