my boyfriend's Dad taught him this, and it kills.

Lay down, keep your legs straight out. Lift legs slightly and with your legs spell the numbers from 1 to 10 without resting (I had to rest). You will feel it in your lower abs big time!!

    another good one is lay on your back with your legs up in the air(straightened out) and have someone grab your feet and try to push them to the ground. You have to keep your feet from touching the ground and bring them back up to your partners hands.

    the idea of holding them straight out works for all exercises. I read somewhere that the further weight is out from your body the more resistance...thus the more toning :D

    I don't think a lot of the good strength training exercises burn a tonne of cals, but muscle mass helps burn fat, so it doesn't hurt
